AIA New Mexico Task Force on Procurement
In early 2010, a task force of AIA members was set up to work on issues of procurement by home rule entities in the state. AIA New Mexico strongly supports Qualification Based Selection (QBS) and is concerned with the University of New Mexico’s request for fees to be included in the response to RFPs for procurement of architectural services. The Task Force is chaired by Tymn Waters, AIA, President of AIA New Mexico. For more information about the Task Force or to volunteer your assistance, contact Jean Gibson, Executive Director.

AIA New Mexico Task Force on the State Fee Schedule
This task force is chaired by Victor Johnson, AIA, President Elect of AIA New Mexico. The Architecture Rate Schedule used by the state has not been revised since 1985. Since then, the scope of services provided by architects has increased significantly. The Task Force has undertaken a comparative study of fees and contract provisions from other states to bolster its case for change. An online listing of technical and business consultants frequently used by architects. This service will provide resources to architects assembling a design team, looking for a specialist or seeking management services for their business, and it will be an excellent venue for consultants who wish to do business with architects.
